Flexible polyurethane (MDI)
MDI flexible polyurethane is the best polyurethane system for moulded upholstery. It allows for excellent comfort and support characteristics in the total absence of any toxicity during processing (a characteristic of the most common Toulene-based flexible polyurethanes).
It can be used with both resin and aluminium moulds, depending on the client’s needs and requirements.

Technical features
The double-injection moulding of flexible with rigid polyurethane is a distinctive feature of the services offered by Linea ar srl due to the use of both rigid and flexible polyurethane families in production, and the experience gained in the furniture sector since the 1970s.
A significant advantage offered by the rigid moulded part with flexibility, over the more traditional iron frame flexible foam is the means of disposal: the two polyurethanes are compatible and do not have to be separated as in the case of iron frames.
MDI’s flexible polyurethane also offers a wide moulding range, which means that for the same weight it is possible to choose between a softer or harder compound to suit the needs of the client and the specific project.
Standard production is carried out with a class CALIFORNIA (TB-117:2013 – SECTION 3) flame retardant-free system.
Certified fire retardant class, CLASS 01-IM (UNI 9175) and British Standard BS 5852 (CRIB 5) are available on order specifications.
